The purpose of this document we need to understand what is intrinsic safety and why it is needed to be to our products. we if are sale product in hazardous environment we need to certified product to intrinsic safe. firstly we will need purchase IEC 60079-11 standard.

This type of protection is applicable to electrical apparatus in which the electrical circuit themselves are incapable of causing an explosion in surrounding explosive atmospheres

Type of Protection Level : three type of protection level **ia, ib, and ic**

ia : Very High Protection Level - safe after two consecutive malfunctions

ib : High Protection Level - safe after one malfunction

ic : Normal Protection Level - safe under normal operation conditions

As per the Indian standards the explosive gases are classified under two broad categories viz.

i. **Group I** – Methane

ii. **Group II** is subdivided into three types, viz. IIA, IIB, IIC

IIA represents Propane

IIB represents Ethylene

IIC represents Hydrogen and Acetylene

**Temperature Classification :** Temperature Classification is based on the maximum temperature which any relevant part of the equipment which may be in contact with a flammable (explosive) gas, can reach.

| **CLASS** | **SURFACE TEMPERATURE °C** |
| T1 | <450 |
| T2 | <300 |
| T3 | <200 |
| T4 | <135 |
| T5 | <100 |
