Features of the Tuning Fork based Level
Limit Switch ( SLM Series )
The SLM series level switch / level detector has
no moving parts and requires no calibration. The
High/Low selection feature is available as a
standard feature unlike other manufacturers
would give to you. The instrument is insensitive
to material build-up and isn't affected by the
electrical properties of the service material.
You can choose an enclosure depending on you
process plant conditions. We have housing that
prevents and protects the level switch from
explosive conditions, dusty areas and
unpredictable weather conditions. What else, we
also have a circular enclosure available if you
need.
Principle of Operation
A top or side mounted, stainless steel made
tuning fork is kept in mechanical vibration at
the resonance frequency by piezo ceramic
elements. When the service material covers the
tines of the tuning fork, vibrations are damped.
This is sensed electronically and processed
signal is used to energize a relay whose
contacts in turn are used for annunciation or
control. Two basic type of constructional
arrangements are available. One, where the
electronics is separated from the fork, the
other has them integrated. You can choose from:
mounting arrangement of your choice (screwed
or flanged type).

Longer probe length use pipe extension made of
GI or SS as required. Integral Versions meant
for high temperature operation are provided with
a stand-off arrangement for keeping the
electronics in a relatively cooler environment.
Adjustable probe length type are provided with
gland arrangement for making length adjustments.
