Soya seeds are collected in large bins and silos to make them moisture free. These storage silos require point-level switching.

  1. Solvent Extraction Plant – Extractor Feed Hopper

Extractor feed hopper:

Soya oil is mainly produced by extraction with solvents. Flakers are put into a percolation extractor and immersed in a solvent, normally hexane. Oil is then extracted from Flakers and is processed for removing hexane in evaporators.

The process needs continuous monitoring of flacket in around a 2-3 Meters big extractor silo. Sapcon recommends its Capacitance Level Transmitter with Flame-proof enclosure.

After solvent extraction process, the de-oiled material may be in the shape of flakes and cake soaked in solvent. The de-oiled oilseed material is toasted to reduce anti-nutritional factors, and is then dried within trading limit moisture requirements. The de-oiled oilseed material is then cooled to near ambient temperature to remain flowable during storage and transport.
